One possible cause of the problem is that the internet cache built up by the router gets corrupted over time. To reset this cache, we need to turn on the router.

Step one: Unplug the router from the power outlet.

Step two: Press and hold the power button for at least 15 seconds.

Step three: Reconnect the router and turn it on.

This is one of the easiest repairs that almost any router can do.

If turning off the router does not solve the problem, try rebooting the router to reset all settings to their default values. There are two ways to reboot the router.

  • Using the router’s firmware.
  • Via the reset button on the router itself.

For this method, you will first need a small pin or something small enough to fit through the hole in the router’s reset switch. Once you have it, plug it in, wait about 15-20 seconds and wait for the router to reboot.

The router should automatically configure itself and connect to the server. Now see if your problem is solved.

An error may occur if a connection error occurs on the ONT port. Make sure you have an Ethernet port on the appropriate ONT port. Check that the cable is properly connected to the connector and that the cable itself is not damaged.

You can refer to the user manual of your router/modem to verify the selection of the ONT port appropriate for you.

Another possible cause of the problem could be an outage at AT&T. In this case, you can only contact your service provider to get an accurate calculation of the cut-off time for resuming service.

You can also log into the MyATT website with your member ID and password and perform the diagnostic test yourself.
